WHERE:
95th Street/Dan Ryan Terminal to 130th Street
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Red Line Extension (RLE) Project is an extension of the CTA Red Line from the existing 95th/Dan Ryan terminal to 130th Street. The 5.6 mile extension will include four new stations near 103rd Street, 111th Street, Michigan Avenue, and 130th Street. Multimodal connections at each station will include bus, bike, pedestrian, and park and ride facilities.
The RLE project will reduce commute times, improve mobility and accessibility, and provide connections to other transportation modes.
Timeline:
May 2023: Notification of Shortlisted Respondents

June 2023: Issue Draft RFP to Proposers
March 2024: RFP Proposal Due Date
Fourth Quarter 2024: Anticipated Award of
Design-Build Contract

Our Joint Venture Team, in partnership with Jacobs Engineering, was strategically formed to pursue the CTA Red Line Extension Design-Build project, bringing together local firms with CTA design and construction experience and a strong commitment to maximize the opportunities that this project will bring to the City of Chicago.

Design-Build 95th Street Terminal Improvements project.
Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc.
Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. is a full-service engineering firm offering expertise in civil, mechanical, electrical, structural and environmental engineering, as well as construction and program management. Milhouse and F.H. Paschen completed the 95th Street Terminal Improvements project as a joint venture.
Ragnar Benson Construction
Ragnar Benson Construction is one of the nation’s most successful rail and heavy civil/bridge contractors. They’ve worked with CTA and Class 1 railroads on capacity expansion, intermodal facilities, and yard construction projects.
BOWA Construction
BOWA Construction is a Chicago-based general contracting and construction management firm. They have extensive experience in mass transportation with a portfolio of over $200 million, primarily on aviation projects at O’Hare International Airport.
LEAD DESIGNER
Jacobs is an international multidisciplinary professional engineering, planning, and construction management firm that has worked with CTA on numerous projects, including as Owner Representative on the Red Purple Modernization Phase One project and the 95th Street Terminal Improvements project.
